New (Database=>New) Choose this option to create a new database. Database Name - Name for this database Use Defaults - Check this box to force GSAK to use the default properties for this database Associated view - Select a saved view that will always be used when you open this database. The default option of *Not set* means GSAK will use whatever is the current view when this database is opened. Split screen - Select a split screen format to be used. Sort sequence - Select the column you want this database to be sorted by when it is opened. Disable smart names - This enables you to turn off the calculation of smart names. There is quite an amount of overhead for GSAK to keep the smart names up to date, unique, and synchronized. If you don't need smart names for this database, you can now turn them off (especially if your database is large, performance benefits will be noticeable) Smart name length - Normally smart names are calculated to the length you have set via Tools=>Options=>General. Updating this setting will allow this database to have a different smart name length to the default configuration setting Run Macro - You can associate a macro to run each time this database is opened centre Point - When you swap databases, GSAK remembers the last centre point used for that database. All distances are calculated from that centre point. You can change the centre point via any of available options that allow you to do so, but every time you open the database the last centre point set for the database will be the current. In contrast, if you would prefer that every time you open the database it should always use a particular centre point rather that just the last one you used, then set values for this option. You can enter the details manually, or you can use the "Grab current" button to populate these boxes with the current centre point. This allows you to use any of the existing methods to set a centre point, and then use the "Grab current" button, rather than having to enter it manually. |
